Retreat

EACH PALSTONE WEEKEND IS UNIQUE

Our retreats take place seasonally and we welcome up to eight guests on each. This way we can focus on forging real connections by fostering a friendly, safe space to explore new experiences.

Discover coastal or moorland fauna and flora or explore the exotic gardens of South Devon and Cornwall. Visit forest gardens or enjoy learning new horticultural skills with experts in their field.

Natural Environment

Learn to draw or discover new artistic media with experts. Our artist retreats inspire you to look closer and dig deeper, whilst our traditional crafting stays provide you with new lifelong skills.

Art and Craft

Walk through ancient rainforests or other iconic Dartmoor tors, the lanes of Plymouth to Salcombe and the tumbling South West coast path. Learn about the local wildlife and archaeological history of this area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Walking

Our food awakens your senses.

Tess, our resident chef, remembers a childhood harvesting seasonal produce in the Marlborough countryside, and at Ashburton Cookery School she developed a repertoire of fine dining.

The combination is what she prepares at Palstone – with a rustic, farmhouse touch.

Tess cooks mindfully – sourcing ingredients locally and seasonally, gathering food from places like Riverford Organics, Jonas of Brixham and often, our own garden. Fish is caught nearby, and we try to keep added sugar to a minimum.

We always provide tasty options for vegetarians and vegans and offer a glass of organic wine with your evening meal, unless we’re running a body cleanse weekend.

Food

Seasonal foraging is a skill you can take into any walk of life. Learn to look at nature in a new way, as a useful and sustainable resource – collecting food or natural dyes from berries and plants that will otherwise wither with the season.

Foraging

Enjoy a relaxing therapy or enjoy an invigorating thermal experience alternating between our wood-fired hot tub and icy cold Russian shower.

Deep Relaxation

‘Just be’ with a trained leader, who will guide you into stillness and leave you feeling energised and grounded to a backdrop of secluded ancient forest.

Forest Bathing

Sound Bath

Let a therapist immerse you in a bath of changing sounds. Lie quietly and let the experience take you on a meditative journey to inner peace.

Rise and shine with Hatha and Embodied Flow yoga sessions – led by resident teacher, Jenny. These classes are optional and cater to all abilities.
