About Palstone

WAYFINDING RETREATS IN SOUTH DEVON

70 years ago, an ancient waymark cross was unearthed by monks outside Palstone, buried as the monasteries dissolved.

We like to think it represents our long connection to pilgrimage, quiet contemplation and creative expression – a reminder of why we retreat in the first place.

Home to some of the UK’s last remaining temperate rainforest environments, Dartmoor is as plentiful in granite tors, ancient stone circles and trodden pathways, as it is in pools of water and light. Dartmoor ponies graze in acres of open moor and epiphytes hang from gnarled Oaks, Rowans and leafy Hazels.

Palstone rests between this rugged moor and wild beautiful coastline, so wildlife and folklore embed themselves naturally into all our retreats. We hope you will drop into the calming serenity of the land and find your own route to renewal.

South Brent village is just a 10-minute walk away. Here you can enjoy a traditional pub, sample the local coffee, stock up on provisions or wile away a few hours in the wonderful art shop.

Ground yourself and reconnect with nature’s rhythm.
