Our Story

A QUIET SPACE IN NATURE

“Palstone has a unique, transformational energy.”

My husband, Andy, and I felt it the moment we arrived.

We wanted to provide a quiet space in nature for anyone who needed it, so we set about developing the house, barns and garden. Now it’s a workshop, retreat centre and wildlife haven, and we continue to plant trees and wildflowers to restore the water meadows.

We believe art and nature coexist in harmony so we’re lucky to be based in such an area of outstanding natural beauty. This spirit is embedded into each of our retreats. It’s a place where you can step away from the hum drum to expand your creative horizons, take some time for silent reflection and carve your own route to renewal.

We want you to leave Palstone with a sense of light-heartedness and grounding – ready to create the life you truly desire.

“Reconnect with nature’s rhythm and emerge feeling a little lighter of heart.”

  • Jenny

    Founder

Jenny’s love of horticulture and nature have inspired both practical and advisory roles in gardens and nurseries throughout the UK.

For over 40 years, she’s also practiced yoga, with particular interest in body energy flows and somatic release. After obtaining a Postgraduate Certificate in Education and a Certificate in Yoga Teaching from the British Wheel of Yoga, she’s spent the last decade sharing her practice as a teacher.

Now, it’s Palstone where she channels these passions into soul bathing, amidst the wild outdoors.

  • Lisa

    Reflexologist

For 10 years, Lisa has demonstrated the therapeutic power of reflexology. Not only can it support the body’s own natural ability to heal, but it creates deep relaxation – helping to reduce stress and anxiety.

Reflexology is a deep pressure massage to the feet and can also be applied to the hands.

  • Tess

    Chef

Growing up in the beautiful Marlborough Downs, Tess fell in love with seasonal, home grown and gathered produce. It was then at Ashburton Cookery school, she developed a repertoire of fine dining and food preparation skills.

Here at Palstone, you’ll see a blend of both with a rustic farmhouse touch.

Amanda Morley - Qigong Teacher

Amanda's love of Qigong grew from a practice on a silent meditation retreat many years ago.  She has spent the past decade practicing, learning and training with many inspiring teachers.

Following 25 years living and working in London, Amanda relocated to Devon in 2022 where she runs classes and restorative workshops.  She also enjoys teaching and facilitating on retreats in the UK and abroad.

Qigong has its roots in Taoist philosophy and is one of the four main branches of Chinese Medicine to support health and wellbeing.  It is a moving meditation combining gentle movement with breath and awareness to cultivate our vital life force energy (qi) and to feel more harmony with the world around us.

We can’t wait to welcome you
